Major Incidents:
ONE. Assasination of Jacob Israël de Haan (1924), a Dutch-Jewish diplomat, for attempting to make a peace deal with the Emir of Mecca - his plan was a Palestinian state in a Jordanian federation, the Zionists would drop the Balfour declaration and any claim to a state in exchange for unrestricted immigration. He was assassinated when leaving a synagogue by Avraham Tehomi (who admitted to it much later), on the orders of Yitzhak Ben-Zvi, who later became the 2nd President of Israel:

TWO. King David Hotel Bombing (1946) where right-wing Zionist terrorists attacked a British HQ located within the hotel killing 91 and injuring 46. The leader of the perpetrators, Manachem Begin became the Prime Minister of Israel in 1977:

THREE. Deir Yassin Massacre (1948) where 110 villagers were slaughtered, some members of the perpetrators were at a later time, absorbed into the IDF, one even became PM of Israel:

FOUR. Document from IDF archives (1948) which after translation states:
"In the villages lying between Nahraiya and Tarshiha there are no foreign troops for the time being. The villages are armed and ready for action1. Your orders are to occupy, kill the men2, destroy and burn down the villages of Kabri, Umm al-Faraj and al-Nahr."
[1] Ilan Pappe notes that the villagers had no proper arms, only for hunting purposes and people who served in the police; without Arab troops that were absent they stood no chance [2] In April 1948, the Intelligence of the Hagana defined men as anyone above the age of 10

Those involved in the massacre were found guilty but were pardoned and released from prison in a single year. The highest ranking official prosecuted for the massacre confessed before his death, that the massacre were planned to ethnically cleanse Israeli Arabs from the region, and that his trial was staged to protect Israeli political and military elites, including Prime Minister Ben Gurion, from taking responsibility for the massacre:

Mockingbird X.0

Imagine if there was one desk that all stories could cross so that, at 4am, a media plan could be decided upon and disseminated where all news outlets coordinated to set the goalposts of debate and hyper focused on specific issues to drive a narrative to control how you vote and how you spend money; where Internet shills were given marching orders in tandem to what was shown on television, printed in newspapers and spread throughout articles on the World Wide Web.
In the past, we had Operation Mockingbird, where the program was supremely confident that it could control stories around the world, even in instructions to cover up any story about a possible “Yeti” sighting, should it turn out they were real.
If, in 1959, the government was confident in its ability to control a story about a Yeti, then what is their level of confidence in controlling stories, today?
In fact, we have a recent example of a situation similar to the Yeti. When Bill Clinton and Loretta Lynch met on the TARMAC to spike the Hillary email investigation, the FBI was so confident it wasn’t them, that their entire focus was finding the leaker, starting with searching within the local PD. We have documentation that demonstrates the state of mind of the confidence the upper levels of the FBI have when dealing with the media.
The marriage between mainstream media and government is a literal one and this arrangement is perfectly legal.
But, this problem extends far beyond politics; the private sector, the scientific community, even advice forums are shilled heavily. People are paid to cause anxiety, recommend people break up and otherwise sow depression and nervousness. This is due to a correlating force that employs “systems psychodynamics”, focusing on “tension centered” strategies to create “organizational paradoxes” by targeting people’s basic assumptions about the world around them to create division and provide distraction.
In this day and age, it is even easier to manage these concepts and push a controlled narrative from a central figure than it has ever been. Allen & Co is a “boutique investment firm” that managed the merger between Disney and Fox and operates as an overseeing force for nearly all media and Internet shill armies, while having it’s fingers in sports, social media, video games, health insurance, etc.
Former director of the CIA and Paul Brennan’s former superior George Tenet, holds the reigns of Allen & Co. The cast of characters involves a lot of the usual suspects.
In 1973, Allen & Company bought a stake in Columbia Pictures. When the business was sold in 1982 to Coca-Cola, it netted a significant profit. Since then, Herbert Allen, Jr. has had a place on Coca-Cola's board of directors.
Since its founding in 1982, the Allen & Company Sun Valley Conference has regularly drawn high-profile attendees such as Bill Gates, Warren Buffett, Rupert Murdoch, Barry Diller, Michael Eisner, Oprah Winfrey, Robert Johnson, Andy Grove, Richard Parsons, and Donald Keough.
Allen & Co. was one of ten underwriters for the Google initial public offering in 2004. In 2007, Allen was sole advisor to Activision in its $18 billion merger with Vivendi Games. In 2011, the New York Mets hired Allen & Co. to sell a minority stake of the team. That deal later fell apart. In November 2013, Allen & Co. was one of seven underwriters on the initial public offering of Twitter. Allen & Co. was the adviser of Facebook in its $19 billion acquisition of WhatsApp in February 2014.
In 2015, Allen & Co. was the advisor to Time Warner in its $80 billion 2015 merger with Charter Communications, AOL in its acquisition by Verizon, Centene Corporation in its $6.8 billion acquisition of Health Net, and eBay in its separation from PayPal.
In 2016, Allen & Co was the lead advisor to Time Warner in its $108 billion acquisition by AT&T, LinkedIn for its merger talks with Microsoft, Walmart in its $3.3 billion purchase of Jet.com, and Verizon in its $4.8 billion acquisition of Yahoo!. In 2017, Allen & Co. was the advisor to Chewy.com in PetSmart’s $3.35 billion purchase of the online retailer.
Allen & Co throws the Sun Valley Conference every year where you get a glimpse of who sows up. Harvey Weinstein, though a past visitor, was not invited last year.
Previous conference guests have included Bill and Melinda Gates, Warren and Susan Buffett, Tony Blair, Google founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin, Allen alumnus and former Philippine Senator Mar Roxas, Google Chairman Eric Schmidt, Quicken Loans Founder & Chairman Dan Gilbert, Yahoo! co-founder Jerry Yang, financier George Soros, Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg, Media Mogul Rupert Murdoch, eBay CEO Meg Whitman, BET founder Robert Johnson, Time Warner Chairman Richard Parsons, Nike founder and chairman Phil Knight, Dell founder and CEO Michael Dell, NBA player LeBron James, Professor and Entrepreneur Sebastian Thrun, Governor Chris Christie, entertainer Dan Chandler, Katharine Graham of The Washington Post, Diane Sawyer, InterActiveCorp Chairman Barry Diller, Linkedin co-founder Reid Hoffman, entrepreneur Wences Casares, EXOR and FCA Chairman John Elkann, Sandro Salsano from Salsano Group, and Washington Post CEO Donald E. Graham, Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner, and Oprah Winfrey.
George Tenet, with the reigns of Allen & Co in his hands, is able to single-handedly steer the entire Mockingbird apparatus from cable television to video games to Internet shills from a singular location determining the spectrum of allowable debate. Not only are they able to target people’s conscious psychology, they can target people’s endocrine systems with food and pornography; where people are unaware, on a conscious level, of how their moods and behavior are being manipulated.
"The problem with George Tenet is that he doesn't seem to care to get his facts straight. He is not meticulous. He is willing to make up stories that suit his purposes and to suppress information that does not."
"Sadly but fittingly, 'At the Center of the Storm' is likely to remind us that sometimes what lies at the center of a storm is a deafening silence."
Tenet joined President-elect Bill Clinton's national security transition team in November 1992. Clinton appointed Tenet Senior Director for Intelligence Programs at the National Security Council, where he served from 1993 to 1995. Tenet was appointed Deputy Director of Central Intelligence in July 1995. Tenet held the position as the DCI from July 1997 to July 2004. Citing "personal reasons," Tenet submitted his resignation to President Bush on June 3, 2004. Tenet said his resignation "was a personal decision and had only one basis—in fact, the well-being of my wonderful family—nothing more and nothing less. In February 2008, he became a managing director at investment bank Allen & Company.
We have the documentation that demonstrates what these people could possibly be doing with all of these tools of manipulation at their fingertips.
The term for it is “covert political action” for which all media put before your eyes is used to serve as a veneer… a reality TV show facade of a darker modus operandum.
It is now clear that we are facing an implacable enemy whose avowed objective is world domination by whatever means and at whatever costs. There are no rules in such a game. Hitherto acceptable norms of human conduct do not apply. If the US is to survive, longstanding American concepts of "fair play" must be reconsidered. We must develop effective espionage and counterespionage services and must learn to subvert, sabotage and destroy our enemies by more clever, more sophisticated means than those used against us. It may become necessary that the American people be made acquainted with, understand and support this fundamentally repugnant philosophy.
Intelligence historian Jeffrey T. Richelson says the S.A. has covered a variety of missions. The group, which recently was reorganized, has had about 200 officers, divided among several groups: the Special Operations Group; the Foreign Training Group, which trains foreign police and intelligence officers; the Propaganda and Political Action Group, which handles disinformation; the Computer Operations Group, which handles information warfare; and the Proprietary Management Staff, which manages whatever companies the CIA sets up as covers for the S.A.
Scientology as a CIA Political Action Group – “It is a continuing arrangement…”: https://mikemcclaughry.wordpress.com/2015/08/25/scientology-as-a-cia-political-action-group-it-is-a-continuing-arrangement/
…Those operations we inaugurated in the years 1955-7 are still secret, but, for present purposes, I can say all that’s worth saying about them in a few sentences – after, that is, I offer these few words of wisdom. The ‘perfect’ political action operation is, by definition, uneventful. Nothing ‘happens’ in it. It is a continuing arrangement, neither a process nor a series of actions proceeding at a starting point and ending with a conclusion.
CIA FBI NSA Personnel Active in Scientology: https://i.imgur.com/acu2Eti.png
When you consider the number of forces that can be contained within a single “political action group” in the form on a “boutique investment firm,” where all sides of political arguments are predetermined by a selected group of actors who have been planted, compromised or leveraged in some way in order to control the way they spin their message.
The evidence of this coordinated effort is overwhelming and the “consensus” that you see on TV, in sports, in Hollywood, in the news and on the Internet is fabricated.
Under the guise of a fake account a posting is made which looks legitimate and is towards the truth is made - but the critical point is that it has a VERY WEAK PREMISE without substantive proof to back the posting. Once this is done then under alternative fake accounts a very strong position in your favour is slowly introduced over the life of the posting. It is IMPERATIVE that both sides are initially presented, so the uninformed reader cannot determine which side is the truth. As postings and replies are made the stronger 'evidence' or disinformation in your favour is slowly 'seeded in.'
Thus the uninformed reader will most likely develop the same position as you, and if their position is against you their opposition to your posting will be most likely dropped. However in some cases where the forum members are highly educated and can counter your disinformation with real facts and linked postings, you can then 'abort' the consensus cracking by initiating a 'forum slide.'
When you find yourself feeling like common sense and common courtesy aren’t as common as they ought to be, it is because there is a massive psychological operation controlled from the top down to ensure that as many people as possible are caught in a “tension based” mental loop that is inflicted on them by people acting with purpose to achieve goals that are not in the interest of the general population, but a method of operating in secret and corrupt manner without consequences.
Notice that Jeffrey Katzenberg, of Disney, who is intertwined with Allen & Co funds the Young Turks. He is the perfect example of the relationship between media and politics.
Katzenberg has also been involved in politics. With his active support of Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama, he was called "one of Hollywood's premier political kingmakers and one of the Democratic Party's top national fundraisers."
With cash from Jeffrey Katzenberg, The Young Turks looks to grow paid subscribers:
Last week, former DreamWorks Animation CEO Jeffrey Katzenberg’s new mobile entertainment company WndrCo was part of a $20 million funding round in TYT Network, which oversees 30 news and commentary shows covering politics, pop culture, sports and more. This includes the flagship “The Young Turks” program that streams live on YouTube every day. Other investors in the round included venture capital firms Greycroft Partners, E.ventures and 3L Capital, which led the round. This brings total funding for Young Turks to $24 million.
How Hollywood's Political Donors Are Changing Strategies for the Trump Era:
Hollywood activism long has been depicted as a club controlled by a handful of powerful white men: Katzenberg, Spielberg, Lear, David Geffen, Haim Saban and Bob Iger are the names most often mentioned. But a new generation of power brokers is ascendant, including J.J. Abrams and his wife, Katie McGrath, cited for their personal donations and bundling skills; Shonda Rhimes, who held a get-out-the-vote rally at USC's Galen Center on Sept. 28 that drew 10,000 people; CAA's Darnell Strom, who has hosted events for Nevada congresswoman Jacky Rosen and Arizona congresswoman Kyrsten Sinema; and former Spotify executive Troy Carter, who held three fundraisers for Maryland gubernatorial candidate Ben Jealous (Carter also was a fundraiser for President Obama).

Viacom, after splitting off from Les Moonves Les Moonves ' CBS , still holds Paramount Pictures, and that movie studio in December agreed to acquire DreamWorks SKG, the creative shop founded by the Hollywood triumvirate of Steven Spielberg, David Geffen and Jeffrey Katzenberg (a former exec at The Walt Disney Co.). DreamWorks Animation had been spun off into a separate company.
Now it's time for Freston to make back some money--and who better to do a little business with than George Soros? The billionaire financier leads a consortium of Soros Strategic Partners LP and Dune Entertainment II LLC, which together are buying the DreamWorks library--a collection of 59 flicks, including Saving Private Ryan, Gladiator, and American Beauty.
The money you spend on media and junk food and in taxes goes to these groups who then decide how best to market at you so that they decide how you vote by creating a fake consensus to trick into thinking that you want something other than what is best for you; but will inevitably result in more money being funneled to the top, creating further separation between the super rich and the average person. The goal will be to assert creeping authoritarianism by generating outrage against policies and issues they hate. Part of manipulating your basic assumptions is also to use schadenfreude (think canned laughter on TV) against characters who support the cause that might actually do you the most good (which reaffirms and strengthens your confirmation biased along predetermined political lines).
We have a population being taught to hate socialism and love capitalism when the truth is no country is practicing either. These terms are merely disguises for political oligarchies where the collection of wealth is less about getting themselves rich and more about keeping everyone else poor.
What can you guess about the world around you if it turned out that every consensus that was forced on you was fake?
How much money would it take to make it look like 51% of the Internet believed in completely idiotic ideas? Combine shill operations with automation and AI’s, and the cost becomes a good investment relative to the return when measured in political power.
Even the people who are well intentioned and very vocal do not have to consciously be aware that they are working for a political action group. A covert political group will always prefer an unwitting tool to help push their agenda, so that they can remain in the shadows.

Directorate of Operations
October 16, 1964
Subject: After action report of
Operation CUCKOO (TS)

1) Operation CUCKOO was part of the overall operation CLEANSWEEP, aimed at eliminating domestic opposition to activities undertaken by the Central Intelligence Agency's special activities division, in main regard to operation GUILLOTINE.

2) Operation CUCKOO was approved by the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Department of Defense and the office of The President of the United States as a covert domestic action to be under taken within the limits of Washington D.C as outlined by Secret Executive Order 37.

3) Following the publishing of the Warren Commission, former special agent Mary Pinchot Meyer (Operation MOCKINGBIRD, Operation SIREN) also was married to Cord Meyer (Operation MOCKINGBIRD, Operation GUILLOTINE) threatened to disclose the details of several Special Activities Divisions' operations, including but not limited to, Operation SIREN and GUILLOTENE.
4) It was deemed necessary by senior Directorate of Operations members to initiate Operation CUCKOO as an extension of Operation CLEANSWEEP on November 30th. After Mary Pinchot Meyer threatened to report her knowledge of Operation GUILLOTENE and the details of her work in Operation SIREN from her affair with the former President.

5) Special Activities Division was given the green light after briefing president Johnson on the situation. The situation report was forwarded to the Department of Defense and the Joint Chiefs of staff, who both approved of the parameters of the operation, as outlined under article C of secret executive order 37 (see attached copy of article).
6) 8 members of the special activities division handpicked by operation lead William King Harvey began planning for the operation on October 3rd, with planned execution before October 16th.

7) The (?) of the operation was set as the neighborhood of Georgetown along the Potomac river, where the operators would observe, take note on routines, and eventually carry the operation.

8) After nothing Meyer's routines, Edward "Eddy" Reid was picked as the operation point man who would intersect Meyer on her walk on October 12th, with lead William King Harvey providing long range support if necessary from across the Chesapeake and Ohio canal (see illustration A for detailed map).

9) Edward Reid was planned to be dressed in the manner of a homeless black man, due to his resemblances to local trash collector (later found out to be Raymond Crump) who inhabits the AO and the path that Reid was planned to intersect Meyer.

Israel Effortpost

Here is my attempt to debunk as many misconceptions I can about Israel in around 3000 words:

  1. Scale:
According to the Uppsala Conflict Data Program (UCDP), around 1.5-2 million people have died from armed conflict in the Middle East from 1946 to 2017. About 25,000, or 1.5%, of those deaths, resulted from the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. In 2017, the Israeli-Palestinian conflict was the 37th deadliest conflict in the world, according to UCDP’s data, with fewer than 100 dying in that year. According to Wikipedia’s list of active military conflicts, the Israeli-Palestinian conflict it is the 21st most deadly active military conflict, as measured by cumulative fatalities.
This is not to say that the conflict doesn’t matter or that it should be ignored. It is to say that the narrative of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict as an eternal cosmic battle or “the most intractable conflict in the world” is not true. The area has been relatively peaceful since 2014 and many countries in the region have moved on and consider the Israel-Palestinian conflict to be low-priority.
It is reasonable for Israelis and Jews around the world to wonder why the media and the international community are so focused on the alleged sins of one nation.
  1. “Brutal Occupation”:
Since the beginning of Israel’s occupation of the West Bank and Gaza Strip in 1967, Palestinian residents of those territories have experienced a profound increase in quality of life. For example, life expectancy rose from 48 years to 75 years.
While conditions have recently deteriorated in the Gaza Strip since Hamas’ takeover, the Gaza Strip outperforms the Global, South Asian, and Middle East country averages in the following measures of quality of life: life expectancy, infant mortality rate, % using basic sanitation services. The Gaza Strip outperforms the average Upper Middle Income country in the following measures: literacy rate, % of women receiving prenatal care, % of children who are underweight, % of children who are wasting, homicide rate, incidence of tuberculosis, and diarrhea mortality rate. (1) In fact, Japan has a higher rate of children who are underweight than the Gaza Strip. (2)
A recent study of Gaza’s water supply found that only less than 5% of Gaza’s water could be considered undrinkable, while much of the water did exceed the recommended WHO standards (according to the WHO guidelines on drinking water, exceeding recommended standards does not = undrinkable, a distinction missed by the media). (3)
  1. Concessions for Peace:
Israel defeated the Egyptian army four times: in 1948, 1956, 1967, and 1973, and captured the Sinai Peninsula, enlarging Israel’s territory by over 100%. Despite its over-whelming leverage over Egypt, Israel offered unconditional peace and return of all captured territory in exchange for peace and recognition, Since then, there have been no hostilities between Israel and Egypt.
As recently as 2008, Israel offered a peace agreement with the Palestinian leadership that would give them around 95% of the West Bank and all of Gaza, supplemented with compensatory land exchanges. The Palestinian leadership rejected this offer, as well as previous offers and responded with violence.
Some suggest Israel should unconditionally and immediately withdraw from the West Bank, i.e. end the occupation, agreement or no agreement; however, Israel did so with Gaza in 2005 and the situation became worse and Israel’s image suffered.
It reasonable for Israel to suspect that the Palestinian leadership is not acting in good faith, as they’ve come to the peace table only after violence failed. If Israel ends the occupation without a credible peace agreement, the Palestinian leadership can simply continue the fight against Israel, and having no occupation to leverage, the Palestinians would have no incentive to negotiate, unless of course Israel fought back. A major concern of Israelis is that anytime they fight back, their image suffers globally. The “land for peace” formula is not just Israel’s policy; it is codified in legally binding United Nations Security Council Resolutions.
If you find yourself questioning this wisdom, ask yourself the following question: if Israel withdrew completely from the West Bank tomorrow and uprooted every settler, with 1 million dollars on the line, would you take a 50-50 bet that the Palestinians stop attacking Israel?
The repeated rejection of peace offers combined with the disaster of the withdrawal from Gaza has convinced many Israeli that the status quo is the most preferable option. Security is the most essential function of government and no Israeli leader elected democratically could retain support without prioritizing security.

  1. Refugees:
An estimated 50-60 million people were forced from their homeland because of armed conflict in the 20th century; however, only with Palestinians has there been a demand for complete return or all refugees and their descendants to the exact location where they originated, rather than a balanced approach of resettlement and/or limited return. (4) In fact, the majority of Israel’s Jewish population are those or the descendants of the approximately 900,000 Jews who fled predominantly Muslim countries because of intense persecution and expulsion that followed after Israel’s founding in 1948. Furthermore, of the approximately 5 million Palestinian refugees, about 2 million live as integrated citizens of Jordan and another 2 million Palestinian refugees live in… Palestine!
Palestinian refugees have their own agency UNWRA and are not controlled under UNHCR, as are every other refugee population. The international community refuses to incorporate Palestinian refugees into UNCHR because they know doing so would make continuing their status as refugees unjustifiable. (5)
Arab countries specifically adopted a policy of non-integration and the Arab League by decree 1547 has made giving Palestinians citizenship illegal for Arab countries (not observed by Jordan). Imagine Pakistan refusing to integrate the tens of millions of people who descend from the millions Muslim refugees who fled India, following the 1947 partition.
The West Bank, Gaza, and Jordan are all territories that are part of historical Palestine; there is no reason why the refugees can’t settle there, as they would be returning to their homeland, only miles away from the towns of their ancestors.
  1. Apartheid:
Within Israel proper (excluding occupied territories) around 75% of the population is Jewish, the rest are mostly Sunni and Christian Arabs, and Druze. Israeli law guarantees complete equality between Israeli citizens, regardless of religion, with the exception of military service, which the law requires of all Jews (with some exceptions).
Israel does not extend citizenship to Palestinians living in the West Bank or include them in government services because doing so would be essential annexation of the territory, which is exactly what Israel is not supposed to do. Instead, the Palestinians in the West Bank are governed by the Palestinian Authority, which performs every essential government operation and allows Palestinians autonomy until a final peace agreement is reached.
The fact that Israel holds the West Bank under military occupation without extending citizenship rights is not apartheid but a requirement under international law. A good example of this practice elsewhere is when the United States held West Berlin under military occupation from 1949 to 1990, as a final peace agreement took decades. The fact that Germans in West Berlin did not become American citizens while living under American military occupation did not make America an apartheid state.
The Apartheid accusation is a clever twist on reality and not really a good-faith accusation for someone who is at least familiar with international law. The accusation’s proponents elide over the distinction between Israeli Arabs who are citizens of Israel and do not live in occupation, the few thousand Palestinians who live in Area C under Israeli control in the West Bank, and the vast majority of Palestinians in the West Bank who live in Area A under the Palestinian authority. The issue is further complicated because Palestinians often refer to the whole of Israel itself as "an Occupation", allowing Palestinian leaders to double-speak about ending "the Occupation" to the world while Palestinians understand it really means ending Israel.
Some conclude that Israel still occupies the areas under the control of the Palestinian Authority, but the Palestinian Authority believes its independence is sufficient to apply for statehood, clearly contradicting their other contention that Israel is the occupying governing power in that area.
As for Gaza, the United Nations frequently contends that Israel still occupies Gaza, despite Israel having no soldiers on the territory. This means that international law would consider Israel to be responsible for the humanitarian condition of Gaza and also that Gazans have a right to resist that occupation. The UN justifies this by saying that blockade of a territory = occupation of that territory.
This leads to a bizarre scenario where Israel responds to Hamas rocket fire by blockading Gaza, but then the international community says that Israel is now the occupying power of Gaza, making Hamas rockets legitimate resistance to occupation. The only choice left for Israel is to now end the blockade, which just puts Hamas back into the position of being able to launch rockets again. This means that it is impossible for Israel to legally use a blockade to stop Hamas rockets and makes a blockade an inherently impossible action for a country desiring to adhere to international law, given the UN’s interpretation of international law as it pertains to Israel.
  1. Settlements:
According to the Fourth Geneva Convention: “the Occupying Power shall not deport or transfer part of its own civilian population into the territory it occupies”. Israel allows its citizens, be they Jewish, Arab, or any ethnicity, to live in certain approved areas of the West Bank; it does not force or transfer them. Admittedly, many international scholars and most countries in the international community believe that this Geneva article prohibits Israeli citizens from even voluntarily living in the West Bank, but curiously, the international community and United Nations have not condemned other countries doing equivalent practices: Moroccan’s moving to Western Sahara, Turks moving to Northern Cyprus, or Russians moving to Crimea, to name a few modern examples. (6)
Contrary to many reports, Israeli settlements in the West Bank do not make the two-state solution impossible. The vast majority of settlers live within a few miles of the Green Line separating the West Bank and Israel, and the actual built-up areas of the settlements cover only 1% of the West Bank’s territory, barely changing since the 1990s. (7) While Israeli settlements and outposts appear as large dots on maps and visual guides, appearing to carve up the West Bank, the physical area of the structures of the settlements do not actually cover the area represented by the large dots.
Importantly, since the early 2000s, Israel has maintained a policy of restricting geographic settlement expansion, meaning that new houses and structures are only built within areas where structures already exist. The result is that the area of the West Bank taken up by the actual physical structures of the settlements has barely changed in 20 years.
  1. Palestinian Terrorism:
Most people are at least vaguely aware of the history of terror attacks on Israel, yet few people are truly aware of the scale of the issue. For example, after Arafat rejected the two-state solution, the Palestinian leadership launched the 2nd Intifada, which lasted from 2000 to 2005. During this time, there were around 120 suicide bombings, plus weekly stabbings, shootings, arson attacks, beatings, and sexual assaults. Think of the chaos and paranoia resulting from a single attack such like the Boston bombing, and now imagine that nearly every week for five years in an area the size of New Jersey. (8)
Some may see Palestinian terror attacks as an inevitable result of oppression, yet there is no evidence for this. In fact, the evidence points to the opposite: that democracies with strict rules of engagement find themselves the most frequent target of terrorism. Terrorism expert Robert Pape found that 95% of suicide bombings occur against democracies. (9) Terrorism is a tactic that only makes sense against an enemy that is non-authoritarian, as attacking an authoritarian country would invite catastrophic retaliation because these regimes don’t care about civilian collateral damage.
If Hamas were fighting Israel symmetrically, they would not exist. It is not normal guerrilla warfare, as Israel knows exactly where the rockets and headquarters are. Israel is nonetheless helpless because any time they try to stop it, civilian casualties result. This explains why countries like China and North Korea face very little threat from terrorism. The irony is that it is Israel’s limited response to terror and its international isolation that makes it such a common target.
Palestinian militants have committed some of the most shameless, vicious, and brazen acts of terror in modern history. Consider the Munich massacre of 1972, where terrorists murdered 11 Israeli athletes at the Olympics, of all places and supposed to be neutral. Or consider the Ma’alot massacre where Palestinian terrorists took an elementary school hostage. When IDF Special Forces entered the building to try to save the children, the terrorists sprayed the children with machine gun fire and threw grenades, killing 31 Israelis, before being killed themselves.
These attacks were not rogue operations or acts of despair but highly technical and meticulous operations, planned and approved by the Palestinian leadership. The logic behind these attacks can be seen by observing the world’s reaction to them: capitulation. The unfortunate reality is that the Palestinians strategy of terror has worked. The Palestinians receive a large share of the world’s attention and concern, while other groups who seek independence, the Kurds, Basques, Uyghurs, and Catalans for example, receive very little attention and will likely never get their own country.
  1. Israeli Tolerance and Democracy:
Israel has many issues with racism, religious freedom, corruption, and erosion of civil liberties, like any other country; however, these issues are comparatively less than most countries. Every year, the Economist Intelligence Unit assesses the world’s countries and creates a democracy index, ranking countries in how democratic they are. In the most recent release in 2018, Israel ranked 30th out of 167 countries, just after France. (10)
Some claim that Israel may be good for Jews but is nonetheless hostile to non-Jews. Some Israeli’s are xenophobic; however, despite living in a turbulent region, Israel has 4 refugees per 1,000 residents, a higher rate than the US, Canada, UK, France, and Germany. (11)
On Stanford University Professor James Fearon’s diversity index, which measures ethnic diversity, Israel ranks 74th out of 159 countries, more diverse than all but 6 European countries. The demographic in Israel with the highest income per capita are Israeli Arab Christians, not Jews.
The argument that we should criticize democratic countries first and hold our allies to a higher standard is clearly applied to Israel only. For example, Ukraine surely has a worse human rights record than Israel yet most liberal-minded people recognize that it is preferable for the spread of democracy to support Ukraine over Russia in that conflict. Furthermore, they recognize that it is the lack of support for Ukraine and their sense of insecurity that would likely pull Ukraine further into illiberalism.
Palestine is extremely reactionary and possibly the most anti-Semitic place in the world, and yet for some reason, saying so seems to invite ridicule or accusations of lack of nuance. It does not help liberal democracy to be neutral in a conflict between Israel, a flawed democracy, and Palestine, a country without a semblance of liberal democratic values.
Criticizing our democratic allies first gives countries little incentive to be democratic or seek to become our allies. Countries, like Israel, that at least attempt to adhere to international laws during conflicts are at a disadvantage to countries that could not care less, and this discrepancy can only be remedied by condemnation and censure that is proportionate to the cumulative offenses committed by a country.
  1. Most Moral Army:
Israel’s anti-terror operations are under unprecedented scrutiny by the international community and NGOs, despite the incredible lengths Israel goes to prevent civilian casualties. Consider the following: What other country calls the enemy on the phone to tell them an airstrike is imminent, thus losing any advantage of surprise (and sending an inert roof-knocking missile just in case)? What other country treats the enemy wounded in its own hospitals? What other country sends hundreds of trucks worth of humanitarian supplies everyday into the territory from which the enemy is attacking? Calling the enemy and warning them before bombing them might seem like an ad absurdum example to someone unfamiliar with the IDF, yet it is rare to see Israel's critics seriously engage with or even acknowledge the IDF's actual practice of doing this.
If you’re skeptical of the claim that Israel seeks to reduce civilian casualties, then consider that over 90% of the Palestinian fatalities during the between 2000-2005 were male, despite men making up around 50% of the Palestinian population. If Israel were bombing and attacking randomly, the demographic of the fatalities would more closely resemble the general population. (12) Adult men have made up around 73% of all Palestinian fatalities since 2000, despite making up only around 25% of the population.
While other countries bomb and massacre civilians at will and without a peep from the International community, Israel spends millions of dollars on developing technology to reduce civilian casualties. If European governments, and other democracies that relentless judge Israel, truly believed that Israel doesn’t care about civilians, then they wouldn’t buy Israel’s weapons technology and seek their advice in counter-terrorism operations.
It is true that many humanitarian organizations purport to have very good documentation of Israeli war crimes; the reality is that they rarely even claim to observe these directly or gather any forensic evidence. For example, Amnesty International had no employees present in Gaza during the 2014 war, yet wrote an entire report based on two contracted employees conducting mostly anonymous interviews, almost certainly under Hamas's watchful presence. The testimony of those who actually serve in the military in leadership positions in respected countries shows that Israel has impeccable standards compared to most countries in the world, even compared to those countries in NATO. (13)
  1. Cooperation with Illiberal Regimes
Israel is a country with few friends and many enemies who are close to Israel geographically. To the north is Hezbollah with tens thousands of missiles pointed at Israeli civilians, to the Northeast is the Assad Regime and Iranians who have killed a hundreds of thousands of civilians since 2011, to the East is the Palestinian Authority who will pay cash to anyone who kills an Israeli, and to the Southwest is Hamas who has killed hundreds of Israelis with rockets and suicide bombings.
All of this means that Israel must accept any alliance it can. One may ask why Israel isn’t reaching out to nice democratic and non-anti-Semitic countries, and the answer is that they are already friends with those countries and that these countries are few in number. If Israel restricted itself to only building alliances with non-anti-Semitic and democratic countries only, then most countries would unfortunately be off-limits.
Some despair of Israel’s building of relations with countries like Hungary or Brazil, but one must ask the question: if flawed democracies like Brazil and Hungary are off-limits, then surely most countries in the world are off-limits, as most countries have much worse human rights records? If Orban’s veiled anti-Semitism makes him toxic, than why isn’t Mahmoud Abbas, the chairman of the Palestinian Authority toxic? Abbas wrote his PhD thesis endorsing Holocaust denial, and has recently accused Jews of inflicting the Holocaust on themselves by their greedy behavior. (14) Cooperation with regimes like Egypt, the PA, and Jordan is essential for Israel, yet these countries are viciously anti-Semitic and no one doubts the necessity for Israel’s cooperation with them.
Curiously, rarely does anyone claim the Palestinian cause to be tainted by cooperating with the Nazis, the Soviet Union, Cuba, North Korea, Iraq, or Iran. Recent regional realignments have changed some things, but generally, the best predictor of being friendly with Israel is being a liberal democracy, and the best predictor of a country being a supporter of the Palestinian cause is being a dictatorship and an enemy of the liberal democratic world.

IrritateYouWithFacts -9 points 17 hours ago* I would be surprised if Australians don't get butthurt if they were in the same situation as Singapore, having 46% the population made up of foreigners. The foreign born population of Australia is only 29% and spread over a huge amount of land. Having 46% of the entire country made up of foreigners which is just a tiny city state is unheard of.
edit: downvotes do not change the facts. I've linked sources below. Foreign born can be citizens or PR too which is why the reply below is wrong. Not surprising though since johnjoe1985 is from India and wants to portray an image that is beneficial for his/herself. Even /singapore has a huge foreign population and tries to sway public opinion in their favor.
According to the United Nations’ dataset on international migrant stock (UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs, 2015), in 2015, the total number of foreign-born population in Singapore was 2,543,638, or 46 % of the total population.

johndoe1985 6 points 12 hours ago The 46% is not right
According to government census https://www.population.sg/population-trends/demographics
Foreigners is 29% of the population

IrritateYouWithFacts 6 points 8 hours ago* I wish that was true but unfortunately, your 29% figure is referring to non-residents whereas I'm referring to the foreign born population, of which it is 46%. PR and Citizenship was given out like free toilet paper just a few years ago so a lot of these foreign born population are now included in the "Citizens" and "PR" categories(refer to the edit below which I linked a source from the 2010 census showing that 22.8% of Citizens and PRs are foreign born), leaving the remainder of the foreign born population at 29%. In total, the foreign born population is 46% of Singapore's entire population.
Here's the paper on it.
According to the United Nations’ dataset on international migrant stock (UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs, 2015), in 2015, the total number of foreign-born population in Singapore was 2,543,638, or 46 % of the total population.
And this is in 2015. From 2015 to 2018 alone, there was an increase of 90,000 new citizens.
Source: https://www.straitstimes.com/singapore/total-population-564m-with-number-of-citizens-up-1-to-347m
Most of the time you wouldn't see any clear pie charts from 154th or population.sg or singstats about the foreign born population. It looks too much. It can be calculated and the numbers are all there in detailed papers but they would never present it outright in a nice clear pie chart for all to see. They will always present by showing Citizens, PR and non-residents only.
In the 2010 census, 22.8% of the resident population (Singaporeans and PR) are foreign born. Combining these foreign born residents with the non-residents population already made up 42.9% in 2010. It is now 46%.

That's not true. The immigrants tend to settle near the big cities. Not to mention you have entire suburbs that are predominantly Chinese or Vietnamese.
permalinkembedsaveparentreportgive awardreply
IrritateYouWithFacts 6 points 8 hours ago* The immigrants settle in the cities(note the plural) and the locals are free to move into the suburbs with little foreigners (and they like to do that). Singaporeans moving from Tampines to Jurong is the same thing. It's all in THE city in Singapore. There aren't other cities for Singaporeans to move to or any suburbs. It's just a tiny city state which is the entire country. Australians cities are also nowhere nearly as densely packed as Singapore.
This city, Brisbane, is 33.2% foreign born while Singapore is 46% foreign born. Brisbane is 15,842 km2 while Singapore is 722.5 km2. So even with a smaller percentage of foreign born people in Brisbane than Singapore, they are also spread out over a huge area, simply because the SIZE OF THE CITY is VERY different. Simply saying "city" is dishonest. Brisbane is 21.92 times bigger than Singapore. The population of Brisbane is 2,462,637 while for Singapore, it's 5,638,700. Population density of Brisbane is 155/km2. 155! Singapore's population density is 7,804/km2. This means that Singapore is 50.34 times more dense than Brisbane and has a higher percentage of foreign born population than Singapore. Note that since you've talked about cities, I've compared Singapore and Brisbane, city to city to make a fair comparison. It actually makes your argument even worse. The city of Brisbane itself spreads the foreign born population a lot more well than in Singapore. Not to mention that a huge part for those foreign born are from the UK which is similar to their local culture in many ways and are at a similar level of development.

Firstly, there are really only three modern city-states: Singapore, Monaco, and Vatican City. Of the three, Singapore is the only world-city. So of course, it's "unheard of," but either you're being deliberately intellectually dishonest or you're ignorant.
No mention of Qatar (88% foreigners), Kuwait (70% foreigners), Bahrain (more than 50% foreigners)... No word on Brunei, Hong Kong... The list goes on. And your post makes no attempt to compare to other world cities where the number of foreigners are comparable to Singapore, if not higher.
And finally, it's not enough that they're citizens? Suddenly, you're discounting foreign-born citizens? They're less of a Singaporean than you are? Fuck out of here with your bullshit. Citizens are citizens. Period.

That doesn't change that it's unheard of. It is what it is. Singapore IS a city state and no city state has that kind of foreign population. The intellectually dishonest part is actually the person that started to compare Australia with Singapore BECAUSE Australia isn't a city state to begin with which makes the comparison simpleminded hogwash with zero critical thinking.

Sure, those are the kinds of countries that Singapore aspires to become. /s

It's not hard. I already know my numbers. Do you?
NYC, LA, Sydney, Vancouver, Melbourne have a lower percentage of foreign born population than Singapore
Sydney is the highest in Australia but it is still lower than Singapore. Refer to my other post about the size of the Australian city vs Singapore and compare their population densities.
And finally, it's not enough that they're citizens? Suddenly, you're discounting foreign-born citizens? They're less of a Singaporean than you are? Fuck out of here with your bullshit. Citizens are citizens. Period.
Yes, which is why there is such a technical term called foreign born with UN indicators and wikipedia articles on the foreign born people in a country. People do not simply assimilate the moment they get their pink IC in the blink of an eye. Citizenship was given out liberally in the last decade to increase the total population. But what can I expect from a person who resorts to ad hominem the moment your views gets challenged. Your assumption that them being citizens equate to being "enough" simply means that you assume that everything that the Singapore govt doing is correct and you'll blindly accept all of their policies instead of questioning if the govt is doing the right thing for its native citizens.
Citizens are citizens. Period.
Oh they are not, even according to the Singapore govt because they do make a distinction when they make a census report. It is also why it's common to have a field called "place of birth" in many official govt forms around the world.
But then again, you're a foreigner and so are many others in this sub so I'm not surprised that you'll be willing to ignore facts.

Singapore is perhaps one of the LEAST xenophobic in the world and are very foreigner friendly. I absolutely want to vomit when I see people saying that Singaporeans are xenophobic when 46% is foreign born with almost no hate crimes committed against them. Even NYC, LA, Sydney, Vancouver, Melbourne have a lower percentage of foreign born population than Singapore and they aren't city states coupled with the fact they these cities are individually far larger than the entire Singapore.

bruindkewestside, bestside 0 points 6 hours ago Okay, I concede I didn't quite set the right tone for any real discussion. I apologize for approaching you like that. My parents are immigrants in the country I'm from, and I am a foreigner here. It touches a sensitive spot. It's something you might never have to experience. Maybe you have. I don't know your story. But either way, the internet is hostile and terrible enough without me adding to that silliness. I come from a city where 40% are foreign born. Whoever is a citizen (personally to me) is a citizen, period. I don't make instant assimilation a criterion for a healthy society. I can respect your decision not to agree with that.
I sat back and thought what you said. If we're talking about the general public, yeah, a good section of the Australia would definitely be butt-hurt about foreigners celebrating their national day. The government might not outright prevent people from celebrating, but the xenophobic (in the descriptive, and not pejorative, sense) sentiments would still be there. Hell, I bet there were plenty of Australians who were bothered, or would have been bothered, after seeing that display. I know there are Americans who would throw a fit about foreigners celebrating anything not American.
I realized I conflated your argument with "immigrants are destroying Singapore." Which was wrong of me. Whether those policies are good or bad for Singapore is a whole different argument. I concede this loss.
permalinkembedsaveparentreportgive awardreply IrritateYouWithFacts 1 point 4 hours ago* come from a city where 40% are foreign born.
LA is 37.7% foreign born and please, the speed is totally different. First of all LA is MUCH larger and has a lower population density than Singapore. The scarcity of an American green card is different from a Pink IC. Pink ICs have been given out far more liberally in the last decade. They are not comparable. Nobody expects full assimilation immediately but the speed is crucial. There needs to be time to transition at a comfortable pace. How many foreigners understand the immense change in Singapore between 2007 and 2017? It's absolutely staggering.
Just look at what LKY said in the 1970s.
When 46% of the population is foreign born, the locals get assimilated into the foreign population as well. For an immigrant city like LA, it's ok. You want talents from all over the world to arrive at LA to contribute. No problem because it's just a single city among the many American cities. It doesn't change the American identity. Singapore is different. Singapore is just a city state. The Singaporean identity has eroded (or changed if you want to be politically correct) dramatically in just the last 10 years.
In the end, he handled it well. The foreign workers in the 70s and 80s integrated into Singapore well and both the workers and Singaporeans benefited. The current immigration policies do not mirror that of the past. It was done at an insane speed and even infrastructure was pushed to the absolute limit. From 2005 to 2009 alone, about 310,000 new PRs were issued. Now think about 310,000 divided the total labour force of Singapore. That's just 5 years. This is not even including the non-resident population which is even larger.
20,153 immigrants became citizens in 2008, continuing an upward trend from 17,334 in 2007; 13,200 in 2006; 12,900 in 2005; and 7,600 in 2004. In 2009 however, the number of new citizens fell slightly to 19,928. This slump was also mirrored in the annual uptake of permanent residency, which more than doubled from 36,900 in 2004 to 79,167 in 2008 but suffered a decrease to 59,460 in 2009. Sharper declines were recorded for both citizenship and permanent residency in 2010, ahead of the May 2011 general elections
Without a nuanced understanding of this, there's no way that the new foreigners, PRs and new Citizens could make a valid comparison out of this. There's no way that an informed Singaporean will accept the comparison of Australia as a whole or Brisbane with Singapore, pretend that they are comparable in any way, and accept that Singaporeans are simply xenophonic butthurt people who can't accept foreigners celebrating their national day in Singapore. This is completely wrong. Singapore as a city state has accepted foreigners like no other has ever done before. Even if you include cities in general, only Miami and Toronto have a slightly larger foreign born population and they are in large countries with multiple cities. All other popular global cities have a lower percentage of foreign born population than Singapore. The least the foreigners could do is to give credit where credit is due. Instead, we are often being called xenophobic, even for pointing out facts and figures direct from the government census. That's pure rubbish. And then I still have to take it when an immigrant tells me to "Fuck out of here with your bullshit"? Even when I am the one calmly and politely making the logical comparisons, providing the facts and official figures, and have not resorted to personal insults and vulgarities. Yeah foreigners 万岁.
permalinkembedsaveparentreportgive awardreply
bruindkewestside, bestside 1 point 3 hours ago I'm sorry, but you are spreading xenophobia. You might give whatever justification you want, rational or otherwise, but call it what it is. And don't presume I don't have a nuanced take on it. Yeah. I shouldn't have been so hostile and aggressive, but don't presume I know nothing about this subject matter.
Firstly, Singapore is an immigrant city. Top talents all over the world DO come here to contribute, and Singapore has benefited immensely from it. Its history is as intimately tied to immigration as the US is. And American identity certainly has been changed with the influx of new immigrants. You might understand Singapore, but you have a poor understanding of the United States. Assimilation takes a generation in Los Angeles, sometimes longer. You will find yourselves in entire LA districts where English won't get you anywhere.
Frankly speaking, I feel you are the one without a nuanced take on it. All you see is: "small city-state, too many foreigners, foreigners bad." Singapore definitely has earned its place as one of the most welcoming countries and city-states in the world. But it isn't the only one. Yeah, Singapore does have the unique pressures of being a city-state where its citizens can't freely resettle in a different place, but many world cities behave that way. There aren't the same kinds of jobs or amenities available living in a suburb or a satellite city three hours away. Definitely you have a point that legally, at least the option to move is there. But the practicalities of simply packing up your things and moving to Seattle or Austin isn't that much easier for Americans vis-a-vis Singaporeans. Also, on top of the number of foreigners with legal permits living in LA, massive amounts of people from other US states come to Los Angeles, along with the hundreds of thousands of undocumented immigrants. All to a city with infrastructure older than Singapore itself. Singapore also has the added benefit of easier administration being a single-party city-state with more control over its policies than most other cities in the world.
You can think of me as the ungrateful foreigner with the gall to speak back to a Singaporean citizen. It seems like you're not willing to accept my olive branch and separate amicably. That's alright. I know my relationship with this country. And I meaningfully contributed in a lot of ways. I am always the first to extol Singapore's virtues, and I jealously help guard Singapore's identity and independence. Because there is great value in it. I've done so in SG and in many other forums, and I've done so professionally over the years. This will be the last reply on this thread because I feel like I've adequately expressed my stance on this issue and clearly we're not going to change either of our minds over this.

Census Results - and some extra thoughts

So here are just some of the results from the Census. Some of the questions asked have long paragraph responses that I have yet to go through , so they will be discussed later. WARNING: This post is long as fuck.

I. Demographics

On Gender:

As expected , the subreddit is mostly male dominated. [Like most subs on reddit really]. However , their are also sisters who are apart of this subreddit too - so I urge commenters in this subreddit to stop assuming that everyone is a "Bro". They could be a "Sis' too.

On Location:

This conversation in this sub is mostly dominated by a Asian-American slant , and that is also reflected in the statistics. Most live in the United States, and the rest live in Australia , Canada, with and in the UK.

On Ethnicity:

95.9% of you are Asian! 1% is black , and 5% are white.

On Age:

The majority of this sub's demographic is in the 18-24 age category. A smaller yet still a majority of the demographic is in the 25-34 category - those of you who have careers , a house , etc. A small minority is in the 35 - 44 age range. These are the people with the most life experience in this sub , and we need more of you guys on this sub. A tiny percentage are in the 13-17 age category. For those of you in this age category , although this sub gets a little bit heavy at times, please enjoy your youth when you are reading this sub!

On Employment:

The majority of this sub is employed. Some are unemployed.

On Relationship Status:

About 56% are either married , in a relationship , or engaged. 44% are single.

On Interracial:

We talk alot about AMWF couples and etc on this sub, but how many people on this sub actually have that experience? About 12.4%. So with this in mind , to the subscribers of this sub - please go out spread those asian genes :).

On Languages:

Most people speak mandarin. Some speak Vietnamese, some Korean. A small minority speak, Tagalog, Indonesian ,Punjabi, Teochew, Thai, Hokkien, Khmer, Spanish, German, etc.

II. Subreddit

On the moderation of the subreddit:

After reading the statistics from this question , it's a relieft that the moderation team is not doing a shitty job modding this subreddit. Still , we will strive to do better with the comments we have garnered from this census. 47.6% think we are doing a great job(Thanks , I'll pat myself on the back for that!), and 26.5% think "Its okay". While 12.2% think we could use some improvement. By and large though , it's a relief that everything ones that the moderation is not shitty.

On how often people go on the subreddit.

Most of our community come to this subreddit multiple times a day (36.7)%, but many come here either Multiple times a week , or Once a day. I must say , this sub is pretty addicting.

Overall Quality of the subreddit.

On a scale of " I hate this sub , AA is better" to " I love this sub" , The majority of this subreddit highly rate this sub a 8/10 (25,2%), and a even larger percent think of this sub as even better. Only 1 person on this subreddit thinks that AA is better :).

What content would people like to see more of ? 2nd image here.

Most people on this sub would like to see more discussion posts on the subreddit - so to the subscribers of this subreddit - please post your thoughts! We would all like to see what you think! Other categories of posts that people most want to see include " Media Discussion and Analysis Posts", and posts about Asian Culture.

"On Suggestions and Comments on the improvement of moderation".

Their were about 30 responses on this question , so I am not going to go through them all. I'll go the ones with the most importance , and the funny ones. Some will be shown here for for you to view.
One of your mods has a stick up his ass. I'm sure you know who it is. Don't let AI become another liberal shithole like aa.
Why thank you. To this comment I will refer you to this rule
" Leave the Partisanship at the Door: Both major political parties/cultural-movements are white-led. Asians needs to chart our own path. Both the Right and the Left have their drawbacks and strengths. If you keep harping on one party and shilling for the other, you don't get it."
Stop banning users who have some dissenting views from the approved narrative.
While it's okay to acknowledge problems within the AF community and point out people who actually are 'Anna Lu's (i.e white supremacy sympathizers and SJW AAPs), sometimes there is too much hate for AFs in general, and I think that takes away from the movement...also I understand recently there is been a lot of US election news, etc., but I would suggest there be more encouragement of discussion threads with interesting topics and high-quality articles... (also, I live in a mainly white community and I can see while there is a fair share of sexpat-like white guys or people just acting interested in Asian culture (anime is popular), not all white people are creeps or have 'yellow fever'....just no.
This particular comment is a constructive suggestion. It would do the sub good if we would focus less on AF hate ; I understand that their are legitimate grievances , however " Asian male problems" do not happen in isolation , but are connected with a number of larger issues Against Asians. People should understand this key issue. However , on the issue of "anti-whiteness" in this sub , I disagree. Unfortunately , many of us have lots of racist experiences in mind. What good is an Asian space if we pander to white people to try to make ourselves less threatening? Many people come here to air their experiences. We are not taking that away from them. Their was a time thousands of years ago in China when philosophies and schools flourished in regards to thoughts. This time is called the "Hundred Schools of Thought". This expression , I feel expresses what is going on in this subreddit aptly. Many of us disagree with eachother on many issues , but what is important we agree on the core issues.
Refuse alliance with ANY ethnically Anglo-American activists even if they're women.
And this comment brings us to another question we asked (Below).

Should we make the sub more amenable to non-asian allies , such as BM,BF, and WF?

Most people on this sub think that we need more non-asian allies. In fact , 73.8% do. Of this 73.8 % , 36.6% think we should have more allies , but 37.2% think that we should only make the sub amenable to these allies on a individual basis , which is something the mod team would agree to. This subreddit is a space for Asians , by Asians afterall. We did not make this subreddit for white people. They can go everywhere else on reddit. 25.5% think that we should make this sub ONLY for Asians , and I am sympathetic to that too. On the moderation front , the mod team will align ourselves with making this subreddit amenable allies on a individual basis.

On suggestions and comments about the subreddit in general

Again, many comments were given here , so only a select few will be aired here.
Sometimes it feels too negative, and focused on WMAF just for existing. I think it's healthier for us to balance it with more positive things (AMWF and self improvement), along with calling out the negative things we face.
Some people have complained that the topics are too limited to members whining about WM/AF. That is a problem but we certainly distinguish ourselves from Asian Masculinity by actually having thoughtful discussions about Asian culture, Orientalism, the modern geopolitics of Asia etc. But at the same time, its a problem because those threads hardly get any engagement, while threads about WM/AF or blatant racism instantly get 50 comments. I also think that in addition to our twitter and email campaigns, we should be figuring out a way to cater to Asian social media. I understand that's hard considering not many of us couldn't speak our Native Languages, but at the very least try.
If posting AMWF/AFWM, I'd rather it be constructive with an argument rather than rage
As moderators , we have also seen many AMWF and WMAF posts. We can also feel your sentiments about this. Therefore , the moderation policy of this subreddit will be changed in the coming days. To improve our content , AMWF and WMAF posts on the subreddit that are submitted on the sub will be changed to require an accompanying analysis. We will not simply accept any AMWF or WMAF post on the subreddit that include links to outrage links , pictures , etc.
should have a videochat room. try tinychat.com easy to see whos a non-asian troll, whos serious, and whos mentally unhinged.
If one of the individuals on the subreddit would like to form a videochat room , we would most welcome it - and we'll post a link on the sidebar.
I believe that asian identity should be a place to discuss asian identity, interaction with other identities should be done elsewhere, or on specific post, maybe invite black movement people to post on the sub once a month.
Perhaps on our new sub: AsianLounge?
Be more open-minded to alternative hypotheses for the social discrepancies we observe, especially when they're supported by science, specifically innate genetic differences between the races and the sexes.
This is also called , Race Realism. This is also known as Racism, biological determinism ("race realism" and "human biodiversity") which are neither socially acceptable nor science and therefore have no place in this subreddit. So the answer is NO.
Encouraging more posters to become "verified". For me, having this tag makes a poster substantially more trustworthy.
We understand that - however it is hard to make people verify on their own.
In the future if there are enough people it'd be cool to host donation discussions for organizations/people who can positively affect aa male image in the media. The subreddit gets a really bad rep and is seen as a hate group. Although I understand the need for aa men to find a place to vent, there won't be much change if we're in this alone. It might be important in the future to start moderating away from WM/AF bashing and start pushing for positive posts and subgoals. Goals can be to spread awareness of up and coming aa male talents/movies/tv shows/books, mass mailing towards media organizations who are creating negative images for aa men, and other things. The better the subreddit's reputation and image is, the easier it will be for other big AA organizations in the media game to form connections with us.
The AMA with Jeremy Long is the first step towards this goal. Things are step by step.
Less tolerance of Asian supremacist views and pseudoscience, less anger and vitriol and more action, more research into issues, more work to ally with non-Asians which will help more in the long run
To add on to this point: If you are caught posting in asian supremacist subs , you will be banned. This is an Pan Asian sub.

III. Personal Thoughts

The following question was given to the people who took the census:
We want to see the thoughts that the Asian identity community have on the future of the sub. Should it become a beacon of light on the internet for asian activism? A educational nexus for Asian diaspora regardless of what place they come from? The birth of large Movement? The sub is many things to different people ; some may use it to educate themselves , while some use it to vent. What are you thoughts on the subreddit? Remember , this is our community , its your community , and its my community.
And we got many , many responses, some paragraphs long. Many thanks to those that gave their time in airing their personal thoughts. As their are so many, only a few will be shown here.
Inclusiveness of AFs and other allies will be imperative to growth and legitimacy.
On the scale of Allies , self hating AFs are our biggest obstacles , but also our biggest allies. I'm sure some will disagree with this statement , but Asians are created by AMAF , not by any other means. This is also stated on our about statement on the sidebar:
Asian Identity is a space for both Asian men and Asian women. However, discussion of issues that affect AM and AF must remain objective, and the complete invalidation of Asian male experiences is not allowed.
While this sub has changed to encompass AMAF instead of focusing on AM issues , we would like to remind comments to NOT invalidate experiences of the opposite gender.
Asian identity can be a place for people to get woke, however people must be open minded about it, and sometimes we sound like extremists, this can be solved by having more introduction material. I volunteer to write more introduction material as soon as I get my reading done.
If you would like to message the mods - we would gladly add you as a contributor to the wiki of this subreddit. You'll be given free access.
It'll follow the path that AM went down because posts have to be approved. There is no free exchange of ideas unless they fit into a specific narrative.
Posts are not approved. We do not use the system AM does where they go thru their posts first before approving them.

For readers to consider:

I think aznidentity has a future on becoming a good start for Asian activism. It certainly is the most trustworthy page for Asian activism out of all the ones I've seen. It's a great way for Asians all over the world to connect with each other and learn from each other. I'm new to aznidentity myself so I'm still learning too. But it is indeed a great community so I'm looking forward to building up our base.
This forum can serve to facilitate crucial discussions about certain power structures and how they affect us collectively, as well as influence our actions on an individual basis. Being Asian gives us a unique liminal position in that we can see how racial dynamics operate other than through the model of black/white, and we should utilize this to acquire greater insight into the nature of power relations in this society, and how we can subvert them to more beneficial ends, through understanding ourselves and our link to the racist structures that we live within.
i understand a lot of bros are frustrated but some of us need to be less militant in order to gain allies. (hapas guys are too extreme). otherwise we will make it easy for whites to manipulate and paint us as a hate group, and what we are fighting for will be deligitimized. i think we should gradually tone down our language against AFs. the hate only fuels and justifies their self hate in their eyes. instead we need other ways to shame them in a reasonable manner to make them feel guilt.
I believe AznIdentity should be a nexus for the Asian diaspora to educate themselves about issues. Over time it would be great if this could become the springboard for a larger Asian movement.
Would really like to see what we discuss on Aznidentity become more mainstream among Asian Americans in general. Would like to see the sub becoming popular without appeasing to whites, altright, SJWs, or anyone (this includes "allies"--while I don't mind allies, I don't believe we should censor ourselves to make them happy, regardless if they're a white woman or a black man).
One of the main ways to reach AA and diaspora - love the purpose but we need more recruiting and less hostility - should have more of a standard of thoughtful dialogue and tbh more shaming of dumb opinions that do us no good
It's good for an online community but the amount of help for users beyond venting is limited. Constructive posts by people in major cities would be useful in creating real change in the lives of people. This is where I hope the future of the community will be
I think Asians across the world should use it as a place to share experiences, and thereby catalog, identify and understand the various small-scale power plays that white people make against Asians across the globe. That's how we can know that we're not alone, and how we can finally make white people accountable for their actions across the globe.
I enjoy reading through the subreddit and agree with a lot of its ideas. I've posted occasionally, although I don't believe I've outright said I'm an AF (specifically Chinese American) anywhere. (My gender can probably be inferred from my posts, though!) I look forward to seeing the sub grow more and participate in some more discussions :-) It's difficult to bring these sort of topics up IRL, so it's nice to see a community online that isn't afraid to.
I wish to see works on Aznidentity to spread through native Asian media channels. So more translated pieces and outreach to Asians from the homeland. This is something I have yet to see other Asian-American activist forums attempt, and it is so crucial for any future success. Media discussions have been on point. Could do without seeing so many posts about white folks/loser sexpats (though I understand the anger) as I would prefer to see more entries focusing on ourselves and how we better ourselves. But overall, it is an excellent place. Hope it only continues to grow. And getting cool AMAs like the upcoming one with Jeremy Long will only help this growth.
I like that it's brought out awareness of racism against us. That being said, I'd like to see the community move past the bitterness and not be forever defined by what others are saying about us.
This sub should be multifaceted. For a new member, it is a place of learning. For more established members this can be the goto spot for sharing ideas and fostering real life activism
Offline expansion; we need something like a church but for asian s (secular of course). Not religious, but the community a church has is absolutely amazing. Would be a great way to meet the same people ever week and develop a deep level of friendship and community for life. Instead of Jesus sermons we can discuss more secular stuff like investing or how to buy a house.
will die eventually. mods will become too inclusive and harsh on militant posts
I am open to making it more amenable to those of African
And finally , we have this comment which I felt the need to air here because it pisses me the fuck off.
I am a white woman married to an Asian man and I have lurked here (not a poster) since the subreddit's beginning, and then on /AM before that. My husband and I are in our mid-30s and brand new parents. We participate offline in Asian activist circles for several years. I also lurk on /hapas. I do not post for privacy reasons, respect for others' spaces and at times I believe that my thoughts would be unwelcome, since I would want to eliminate both white and Asian supremacy from the subreddit. Because I genuinely see Asians, Caucasians and Africans as equal, I do not feel welcome here. That being said, it's not my sub, so I stay out of it. My view is that this subreddit will probably die out within a couple of years. It's too angry and irrational with not enough meaningful action. The bitterness and immaturity level is far too high to actually accomplish anything on a widescale social or political level. And it's far too extreme in some ares to serve as a small, grassroots environment for change. Not to mention that the subreddit is quite small.
That being said, hopefully this will serve as part of the launching pad for some of these guys when they mature and outgrow the irrational anger phase, and begin to truly make positive changes and connections with other people, Asian or not. I truly don't know if there will be a large movement for Asians in the west, because 1) the population size is very low and 2) the number of mixed race and multicultural people of Asian heritage is already outgrowing the number of "full" Asians and this pattern is estimated to continue by demographers. This means that monoracial Asians will need to eventually expand their definition of what constitutes an Asian in western nations. At this time, I am unsure if they are willing to go in that direction, it does not appear to be the face. I recognize that my family choices are contributing to this trend. However, I do not "believe" in this idea of monoracial superiority or increased connection in regards to culture. In other words, I do not see a direct connection between "race" and culture as necessary.
I can agree with the fact that the sub is too angry - but that is temporary. Yes , the sub is small. But everything starts from small. To say that it is irrational? Are you fucking kidding me? That's like Asians going to BLM and telling them how to run their group or tell them why i think their group is "too angry." Perhaps YOU are the irrational one , since YOU don't understand a thing about being Asian or being a minority for that matter. WHO ARE YOU to tell Asians what is irrational or not when it comes TO RACISM? Of which , I'm betting as an White women , you will never understand or know. The very experience of experiencing racism is a irrational experience - and you fucking an Asian guy does not make you enlightened about Asian affairs or about what we experience. Seriously ,why do white people feel the CONSTANT need to butt in and tell us what Asians should do ???
I truly don't know if there will be a large movement for Asians in the west, because 1) the population size is very low and 2) the number of mixed race and multicultural people of Asian heritage is already outgrowing the number of "full" Asians and this pattern is estimated to continue by demographers
Oh please , don't tell me what is Asian or not because some white demographers classify what is "Asian". Asians are Asians , as defined by US, not by white people.
This means that monoracial Asians will need to eventually expand their definition of what constitutes an Asian in western nations
The keyword here , is western nations. This sub is about Asian Identity. Its about connecting yourself to being ASIAN. And that means , to the strictest sense, connecting ourselves with our cultures , our motherlands. It isn't about connecting ourselves with an Asianness that is defined by whiteness. What your saying , is just an expression of white supremacy. Why do white people feel the need to insert themselves to our activism? Don't tell us how WE should determine who is full Asian and who is not! And really ,stop gaslighting us - stop telling me what I should feel about my oppression.
However, I do not "believe" in this idea of monoracial superiority or increased connection in regards to culture. In other words, I do not see a direct connection between "race" and culture as necessary.
No one believes in monoracial superiority here. No one believes that Asians are better then whites , but it seems whites seem to believe that they are better then everyelse. Us emphasizing our culture , our customs , our languages is us defending ourselves from white supremacy , and white racism. Not that you would understand that. White people feel no need to connect race and culture , because white supremacy inherently connects those two concepts as ONE. Why do we take pride in our race and culture? The same reason african americans take pride in being black. To fight back against white supremacy and racism telling us that we are inferior. White people do not understand this.
